Tiefenbachklamm to snack station

Spectacular gorge hike through the gorge with viewing platform.

Duration 3:00 h

The entrance to the Tiefenbachklamm is located about 3.5 km after the former valley station Sonnwendjochbergbahn in Kramsach, on Aschauer Straße towards Aschau/Pinegg/Brandenberg on the right side.

First you hike over forest ground a bit directly along the Ache, but soon the valley narrows. The well-secured, narrow path leads most of the time over stone and gravel above the roaring Brandenberger Ache. Particularly impressive are the bizarre rock formations in this gorge. After about 1.5 km you reach a viewing platform. Deep down below the water has very little space left in the narrow gorge. The further path crosses the Ache three times. The bridges are particularly suitable for watching canoeists. After about 4 km the valley suddenly opens and you reach a meadow and our destination - the snack station Tiefenbachklamm - is reached.

return the same way

The walking time from the beginning to the end of the Tiefenbachklamm is about 1.5 hours. Hikers either choose the same path back (recommended) or walk another 40 minutes on the left (partly asphalt) to the snack station Stegerstall (bus stop back to the parking lot) or on the right to the church in Brandenberg (bus stop back to Kramsach).
