Schatzberg sunny side - Inneralpbach
Ski route on the sunny side of Alpbach to the Schatzberg
Hiking time: 2 hours 30 minutes - 900 m elevation gain
From the parking lot Inneralpbach, go a few meters back on the road towards Alpbach. Behind the bridge, turn left past the guesthouse "Hummerau": Anschnallplatz!
Pass the farm on the left, keeping slightly to the right to the first fence gap, cross a road, and ascend over meadow slopes to a second road. Over more meadow slopes, you reach a wooded area divided by a clearing. Along the edge of the clearing, you soon reach the snow-covered meadow slopes of Jochumalm. From here, yellow/red markings appear now and then. Following them, you reach a weather cross and then the Hahnkopf at 1,902 m. From its summit, you can already see the mountain station of the ski area around the Schatzberg.
Descent: Those who want can cross behind the mountain station of the ski lift and walk the last few meters flat to the Schatzberg summit. Most ski tourers, however, already descend from Hahnkopf, roughly following the ascent route. You can also descend from Hahnkopf a short distance to the southeast, then right across clearings and short forest passages to Luegergraben and return to Inneralpbach via the cross-country ski trail.
