Mountain Advent in Alpbachtal

On December 21, 2025, the BERGADVENT ALPBACHTAL will take place for the first time between the mountain station of the Wiedersbergerhornbahn and the Hornboden inn. From 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM, the area at the mountain station will transform into a deeply snow-covered, fairytale-like Advent world high above the valley. At an altitude of 1,850 meters, you can expect a romantic winter atmosphere with Tyrolean Advent music and a contemplative ambiance for young and old – easily accessible via the Wiedersbergerhornbahn.

Amid crackling bonfires and snowy peaks, musicians, carolers, a primary school class from Alpbach, the theater association, and a traditional folk music group will provide festive sounds at various locations. Another highlight is the illuminated LED walking acts moving through the area and the photo station of the Alpbacher Bergbahnen, where you can take a souvenir photo and download it for free.

There will also be plenty of culinary delights: Kasnocken from the Ski Club Alpbach, fresh Kiachln from local women, and warm dishes from the mountain rescue team invite you to indulge. The Kolberhof enhances the offering with regional specialties such as bacon, cheese, and Kaminwurzen, while other stalls invite you to browse their handicrafts. At the Hornboden inn, you can warm up in a cozy atmosphere, while mulled wine, punch, and hot chocolate at various stalls provide delightful moments in the winter mountain scenery.

For our younger guests, there is a craft station in the warm area of the mountain station where they can get creative and make small souvenirs.

This is not a bustling market but a contemplative gathering in the Tyrolean winter wonderland – heartfelt, atmospheric, and authentic. And who knows, maybe you truly feel a little closer to the Christkind up here.
