Family hikes in the Alpbachtal

Summit hikes with the kids possibly even with a buggy? That‘s feasable in the Tyrolean Alpbachtal. There are so many different hiking routes across the family region that can also be enjoyed by our youngest guests. In addition to impressive gorges, educational themed trails and exciting mountain top playgrounds, discover the idyllic nature of the Tyrolean Mountains as a family. Follow the secured paths to the summit, stop off at rustic mountain huts and absorb the impressive mountain panorama...moments to be treasured by all.

Tip: Staying in the Alpbachtal? Then you will receive your free Alpbachtal Card upon arrival at your accommodation. The card’s many benefits include the use of the summer mountain lifts.

Family hike on the Wiedersberger Horn

Would you like to bring your kids closer to nature? Then head up the Wiedersberger Horn! The leisurely ride with the Wiedersbergerhornbahn to the starting point of your family adventure will give you a first impression of the impressive Tyrolean Alps before you climb up to the peak together. The 300m elevation difference are easy enough for even young explorers to manage and the panoramic view from the top is sufficient reward for anyone.

Good to know: After your peak experience, the next adventure already awaits you. Lauserland – an exciting children’s adventure playground with around 40 play areas - is situated right next to the Wiedersbergerhornbahn mountain station. And the highlight: whizz downhill on the Lauser-Sauser alpine coaster and then allow yourself to be pulled back up to the top. Fun for the entire family!

Buggy-friendly hike on the Reither Kogel

An unforgettable summit experience and one of our favourite places for families: the Reither Kogel. Take the Reitherkogelbahn up to the top station where your journey of discovery through Juppi’s Enchanted Forest begins: an adventure trail across meadows and through woods with natural and exciting play areas for all ages. Afterwards explore the Reither Kogel on the buggy-friendly loop trail, taking you past many a viewing platform. The ideal way to enjoy the panorama and family time together.

The Alpbachtal treasure map

For an added fun factor we recommend the Alpbachtal treasure map for the youngest adventurers. This not only gives you an excellent overview of the region’s highlights, but you can also collect stamps at various stations. Once you have four stamps or more you can pick up a little surprise present from one of our tourist offices.
