Off to new summits! Beautiful 2-day route in the Rofan Mountains with an overnight stay at the Bayreuth Hut.
Experience an unforgettable 2-day hike in the majestic Rofan Mountains that challenges even experienced mountaineers. With a total altitude of 2400 meters and breathtaking views, this route offers an unparalleled adventure in the nature of Tyrol.
Day 1: The journey begins
The starting point is the picturesque village of Münster, where we set off for the Scherbensteinalm. The panoramic view from here is simply breathtaking (remember, the alpine pasture is unmanaged – bring provisions!). From there, the route continues to the impressive Sagzahn and the Vorderes Sonnwendjoch, where we experience the rugged beauty of the mountain world up close. After a strenuous but rewarding hike, we finally reach the Bayreuth Hut, our home for the night (don’t forget to reserve in time!). This approximately 5-hour hike offers landscapes and altitude differences that make any hiking heart beat faster.
Day 2: New summits, new adventures
After a restful night at the Bayreuth Hut, we set off the next day for new heights. We hike over the Zireiner meadows and the Roßkogel, where breathtaking views await us again.
Tip: Be sure to make a detour to the dreamlike Zireiner See! Then it continues towards Pletzachkogel and finally to the Kniepass chapel, where a well-deserved break awaits us. The last section leads us through the idyllic Grünsbach valley before we conclude our adventure in Grünsbach. On this day, we expect around 5 hours of hiking again, during which we can fully enjoy the beauty and diversity of the Tyrolean mountain world.
