Pletzachkogel
One of the most scenic summits in the Inn valley. Beautiful hike with summit experience starting from Kramsach.
The Pletzachkogel is actually the only summit cross found in the Kramsach municipality area. All the more breathtaking is the view over the Inn valley, the Kramsach lakes, towards Rattenberg, into the Alpbachtal - towards the east up to the Wilder Kaiser.
The hike starts at the lift parking lot of the former Sonnwendjoch cable car in Kramsach; you take the ascent path to the right of the meadow up to Kaltes Wasserl. There turn left, after a few minutes you reach the beautiful place called Herrgottstein. Continue on the old alpine path (option to detour to Postalm) up to Pletzachgatterl. There you leave the forest and reach the wonderful alpine meadows of Pletzachalm (not managed!). Follow the path past the alpine pastures to the elevation, where the path turns right over the meadow towards Pletzachkogel. Up to the elevation, you should calculate about 2.5 hours of walking time and for the last meters to the summit another approximately 30 minutes.
Return path:
Now you have a choice on the way back. Either via Klosteralm and a trail down to Kaltes Wasserl and from there back to the starting point. Or simply take the same way back down to the valley.
Catering options:
There is a catering option at the starting point at the Liftstüberl Kramsach. Further options nearby include Hotel Gappen or Hotel Jagdhof in Kramsach.
