Achenrunde Mariathal
Beautiful route along the Brandenberger Ache with special places to pause
The short circular hike starts at the parking lot of the former Sonnwendjochbahn in Kramsach and takes you on a varied discovery tour through the nature and culture of the region. After about 500 meters you reach a distinctive wooden bridge that crosses the rushing Brandenberger Ache. Right behind the bridge awaits the Sculpture Park, an impressive open-air museum presenting art amidst nature – an absolute must on the route.
From there, a detour to the nearby pilgrimage church Basilica Mariathal is worthwhile. This historically significant church impresses not only through its architecture but also invites a moment of peace and contemplation.
Next is the Kneipp facility, an idyllic place to dip your feet in cool water and take a short break. Then follows the Kramsach fitness mile, which lures with its beautiful forest path and several fitness stations. Here you can decide whether to be active at the stations or rather enjoy the peace of the forest and the view into the tall treetops.
The circular hike ends again at the starting point, and along the route there are several places to eat to conclude the hike gastronomically. The Mariathal guesthouse near the pilgrimage church, the lift lodge at the start and end of the fitness mile, the Hotel Jagdhof, and the tennis pool arena near the Kneipp facility are suitable for a well-deserved break.
This route combines nature, culture, and relaxation – ideal for a relaxed day outdoors.
