Due to a road closure from 12 to 23 May 2025, we recommend starting the hike from the parking lot of the former Sonnwendjochbahn in Kramsach. From there, an approximately 3.5 km long footpath leads above the closed road to the entrance of the Tiefenbachklamm gorge. The route is not accessible to cars and cyclists, but is ideal for hikers - quiet, panoramic and easy to walk.

The real highlight begins at the entrance to the gorge: a spectacular path through the narrow, wildly romantic gorge with roaring waters, small waterfalls and a viewing platform that offers a view of the power of the water. Surefootedness is required, but the path is well secured.

After around 2.5 hours, you will reach the idyllically situated Tiefenbachklamm snack station - perfect for an enjoyable stop with regional delicacies. The entire tour (there and back) is approx. 15 km long, takes around 5 hours and covers 370 meters in altitude. A moderately difficult tour with an impressive nature experience!

The gorge is closed on rainy days and in winter for safety reasons.

Hiking with dogs through the Tiefenbach and Kaiserklamm gorges is not recommended due to the steel bridges with grating (especially not feasible for small dogs).
