Guided Tour through the Museum of Tyrolean Farmhouses

A new event format lets the open-air museum in Kramsach shine in festive splendor. Theater, music, and atmospheric lights transform the historic farms into a stage for contemplation.

Kramsach – The Tirol Farmhouse Museum invites you to a special Advent event starting on the 1st Advent Sunday. “Light. Sound. Advent.” is a guided hike through history. At eight stations, visitors encounter theater, music, and old tales. Each station opens a different door into the world of Christmas traditions in Tyrol.

The path leads from the Portnerhof as a meeting point to the Südtirolerhof, continuing through the wooded area with glowing paths to the historic buildings, where scenes like “The Forest Snaggle,” “The Shepherds in the Field,” or “The Animals Speak” come to life. In between, brass players can be heard, lights shimmer, and the scent of wood and resin gives the tour a special atmosphere.

The new event is supported by the Theater Association Bruck am Ziller under the artistic direction of Claudia Brandacher, who also serves as a museum guide. This merges acting and education into a shared experience that makes the essence of Advent – reflection, wonder, community – newly tangible. After the hike, the evening ends with mulled wine, brass music, and regional delicacies at the Rohrerhof. The hikes start every 30 minutes from 4 PM to 6 PM on November 30th as well as December 13th and 14th.
