KulTour - Hop-on Hop-off in the Alpbach Valley
The Alpbach Valley impresses not only with its scenic beauty and traditions but also boasts a high-quality, partly unique repertoire of culinary highlights as well as art and cultural offerings. To explore the most famous cultural highlights of the region in a quick tour, we have put together the hop-on hop-off bus route. The round trip goes from Alpbach to Kramsach and back.
The cultural route "Hop-on Hop-off in the Alpbach Valley" starts in Alpbach at the bus stop/Böglerhof. From here, you take the bus of line 620 to Brixlegg/Herrnhausplatz. You have about 1.5 hours of stay in Brixlegg. We recommend a walk through the market town of Brixlegg past the mining museum and through the Matzen castle park past two wonderful castles.
Then continue from Brixlegg/Herrnhausplatz with line 610 to Rattenberg. Rattenberg is the smallest town in Austria and really offers many sights full of history and enjoyment. You have about 2.5 hours of stay and can explore the entire town starting from the bus stop Radfeld/Middle school via Hassauerstraße, Bienerstraße to the parish church of St. Virgil, over the castle hill and on the other side of the castle hill down to the western entrance of the town and then from west to east through the town.
After many cultural impressions and enjoying a wonderful lunch, the journey continues by bus/bus stop Middle school to the Tyrolean Farm Museum in Kramsach. In Tyrol’s largest open-air museum you literally walk in the footsteps of the past and complete in about 1.5 hours a hike through all of Tyrol. It is worth hiking to the Reintalersee before returning (hiking trail No. 1 - about 10 minutes walk) to enjoy a short refreshment at the water or simply let your soul dangle with the waves. You have about 2.5 hours of stay in total.
Either take the bus back to your starting point or hike along the Reintalersee to the center of Kramsach and then take a bus back or continue to the Laughing Cemetery/Museum Cemetery with the "World Peace Cross" and the "Dance of Death."
Note: Suggestions for bus connections can be found under the section "Arrival" or you can arrange your own travel times at www.vvt.at
