Stations of the Cross Basilica Mariathal
On the Stations of the Cross around the Basilica and Pilgrimage Church Mariathal to Kalvarienberg. A short break with beautiful places to pause and recharge.
In front of the Basilica and Pilgrimage Church Mariathal, take the path to the cemetery on the right and cross it on the left side. After a few steps, you reach a gate and directly afterwards the Stations of the Cross start. The images were created by the Kramsach artist Birgit Riedel. The path leads through the forest and then along the wall of the former Mariathal monastery. Behind the wall is now the playground of the state special school Kramsach.
The walking time is about 15 minutes, but the stations and spots invite you to pause.
The Stations of the Cross end at Kalvarienberg. The suffering of Christ with the crucifixion is depicted there. The place invites you to linger before descending down along the wall to the street on the right. Here you can go right towards the Sculpture Park or return back to the starting point at the Basilica Mariathal.
