KulTour - Castle Path Alpbachtal by bike
A leisurely bike route starting in Rattenberg, the smallest town in Austria. It continues with many impressions of old castles, palaces, and the Matzen Park.
Starting from the Rattenberg East Parking Lot/P4, you cycle westwards through Rattenberg - the smallest town in Austria. From here you can cycle along the Inn promenade to Brixlegg. At the Bike Stop, turn left onto the Inn path and ride a short stretch on the B171 to the entrance gate of Matzen Park.
A beautiful avenue leads through the nature park to the impressive ponds of the castle park. The sight of Matzen Castle and Lipperheide Castle takes you back to times long forgotten.
Now ride about 100 m beside the federal road B171 towards St. Gertraudi and cross the road to reach Lichtwerth Castle via a small bridge. Here a narrow meadow path leads past the castle to the Inn cycle path. Turn right there and cycle back leisurely past the Lido and the Bike Stop to Rattenberg.
Just before Brixlegg is the Skillpark & Pumptrack Rattenberg/Brixlegg, a great practice area for bikers.
Note: total duration of the round including sightseeing and stops: about 2 hours
