Crossing of the Sagtaler Peaks

Ascent with the Wiedersbergerhornbahn to the mountain station, from here 300 vertical meters uphill to the summit of the Wiedersberger Horn at 2,127 m - wonderful views in all directions from the Rofan mountains to Lake Achensee over the Karwendel mountains, the Stubai and Zillertal Alps to the Kitzbühel Alps with the mighty elevation, the Galtenberg.

Then the descent follows to the Hornalm and then further over the ridge towards Standkopf. Of course, you also have the option to hike from the mountain station via the Panorama trail (the southern side is shorter) to Hornalm, saving some altitude meters.

After about 2 hours of walking, there is the option to descend directly to Moserbaumgartenalm and further to Inneralpbach.

If you stay on the ridge, it gets more demanding. The first summit you reach without major difficulties is Standkopf 2,239 m (2 h 30 min from the mountain station).

Attention: from now on, the trail is only for experienced, surefooted, and fearless hikers!

Immediately the descent from Standkopf is secured with cables and exposed. You follow the trail further to Tapenkopf 2,244 m. Time and again you overcome cable-secured sections until below Gamskopf 2,205 m. This is the last summit of the Sagtaler and does not necessarily have to be "conquered" (1 h 30 min from Standkopf).

From "Krinnjoch" follow the signs "Inneralpbach, Farmkehralm. You reach this after another hour.

After a long rest, you hike directly above Farmkehralm on the "Jagdsteig" downhill to Inneralpbach (about 1 h 30 min) and take the bus back to the valley station of the Wiedersbergerhornbahn.
