Bike swing stage 12: Steinberg am Rofan - Alpbach
Along the Steinberger Ache and Brandenberger Ache, the route leads to Kramsach. The passage through the town and the climb via Brixlegg to Reith im Alpbachtal bring mountain bikers to the Reitherkogelbahn and then to the Kerschbaumersattel, which offers a last panoramic highlight before descending to Alpbach.
Route description: From Steinberg am Rofan, take the forest road via Hinterberg to Pinegg. After a short descent behind Pinegg, continue uphill on asphalt for a stretch to Aschau, before the road undulates downhill to Kramsach. After passing through the town, cross the Inn and continue cycling towards Brixlegg, ascending in switchbacks to Reith. The Reitherkogelbahn lifts you up to almost 1,200 meters above sea level. From the mountain station, continue a few meters uphill before descending with a view towards the Zillertal to the Kerschbaumer Sattel. Here you change mountain sides again and start the approximately 400-meter ascent to Hochlindalm. From here, the route descends to Kolber and then briefly descends the valley to the stage destination of Alpbach.
