Questions about travelling to the Alpbachtal

The Alpbachtal is situated in Tyrol, in the district of Kufstein, directly on the A12 Inntal motorway between Kufstein and Innsbruck. The region comprises ten towns: Alpbach, Reith im Alpbachtal, Rattenberg, Kramsach, Brixlegg, Brandenberg, Breitenbach am Inn, Kundl, Münster and Radfeld. It is around 50 km to Innsbruck and around 120 km to Munich.

It’s around 120 km from Munich, which takes about 1.5 hours by car. Take the A8 towards Salzburg as far as the Inntaldreieck junction near Rosenheim. There, join the A93 towards Kufstein and, once you’ve crossed the border, take the A12 towards Innsbruck until you reach the Kramsach exit.

There is also a toll-free route: via Bad Tölz or Lake Tegernsee, over the Achen Pass and down via Lake Achensee into the Inn Valley. By train, you can travel directly from Munich Central Station to Wörgl or Jenbach.

It’s about 350 km from Stuttgart, and you have two options. Via Munich, the route takes you along the A8, the A93 and the A12. The second route goes via Ulm, the A7, Reutte, the Fern Pass and Imst onto the A12 and is around 360 km long. At busy times, such as at weekends, the Fern Pass is often prone to traffic jams, so the route via Munich is usually the more relaxed choice.

It is around 140 km from Salzburg and around 430 km from Vienna. Take the A1 to Salzburg, then the A8 to the Inntaldreieck junction near Rosenheim, and continue on the A93 and A12 to the Kramsach exit. By train, the ÖBB Railjets from Vienna and Salzburg take you directly to Wörgl or Jenbach.

It is around 330 km from Zurich, around 250 km from St Gallen and around 350 km from Lucerne. You drive to Vorarlberg and take the S16 through the Arlberg Tunnel (toll road) to Landeck. From there, take the A12 via Imst and Innsbruck to the Kramsach exit. By train, you can reach Innsbruck, Jenbach or Wörgl via direct Railjet services from Zurich.

It is around 160 km from Bolzano and around 310 km from Verona. Take the A22 to the Brenner Pass and continue on the Brenner motorway (A13) to Innsbruck. You’ll need to pay a separate toll for the A13. From Innsbruck, take the A12 towards Kufstein until you reach the Kramsach exit. By train, travel over the Brenner Pass to Innsbruck and from there take the regional train to the Alpbachtal.

It’s about 250 km from Villach. The route takes you via Lienz and through the Felbertauern Tunnel to Mittersill. From there, you drive over the Pass Thurn to Kitzbühel and on towards Wörgl into the Inn Valley.
